Knights win second in a rowEOS hosted CFU 311 on Saturday in an early morning matchup. After playing to a scoreless tie in the first half, the EOS possession game started to take control of the game. Despite playing without 4 regular starters including two defenders and their starting Goal Keeper, EOS was able to step up and bring home a 2-1 win. The defense which was lead by Carissa, Lauren, Jessie and Paige, who was playing in her first match with EOS played extremely well cutting off the CFU passing lanes and limiting the number of shots that new Goalie, Alexis would face. Alexis did an amazing job of coming off her line and picking off CFU passes into the 18 yard box. Paige and Jessie stepped in for missing players and played as if they had been playing there all season. The offense was lead by Gio who recorded one goal (2) and her team leading forth assist. Also, finding the back of the net was Tia (3), who was the recipient of Gio's pass. Gio took a pass from Megan H, who was making only her 2nd appearance with EOS and placed a perfect shot in the far post side panel. Megan H recorded her 3rd assist in two games. EOS will now prepare to play Maitland on April 18th. Great Job Ladies.
Knights Defeat FCA211 6-1The Lady Tiger Knights got back on the winning track by defeating FCA211 6-1. Leading the effort was a strong defense, excellent passing and nice finishing. The Tigers Knights back four of Ashley, Carissa, Lauren and Rachel led the defensive charge by not allowing the opponent to get any free runs. The team as whole showed a great deal of improvement on the both offense and defense. The teams efforts helped new keeper Rebecca face only 4 shots the entire game. On offense the team was led by Amber who scored three goals in the 2nd half. Also scoring today were Briana, Tia, and Kacey who celebrated her return from a foot injury with a goal in her first minute on the field. While the goals are nice we need to give credit to the players who helped the goals happen. Alexis, Sydney, Jessie, Christina, and Megan H (2) all chipped in with assists. Knights claim 1st and 2nd spots in playoffs. The Lady Tiger Knights finished their indoor season by claiming the top two spots in the U14 girls division. Knights white defeated Knights Gold in the final to cap off the season. Both teams played extremely well this season with Knights Gold going undefeated in pool play and earning a pass to the final. Knights White used precision passing and great off ball movement to defeat CFU in the quarter final. In the semi's, after allowing the game to be tied at 1 with less than a minute to go, the girls immediately went on the offensive and scored with seconds left to earn a spot in the final. Great job to everyone! |
